I have enjoyed the (coaching) sessions which we performed each week and the following summarises the benefits that I believe accrued to myself and to my team.
The first thing that comes to mind is the progress I have made in team building. Without having to fire anyone, you showed me how to create a situation where underperformers left the company of their own accord and you were very helpful in helping us to improve our recruitment and induction methods. The end result is a situation where we now have the best team that we have ever had.
I have certainly upgraded my skills of delegation and I think that have I passed on those skills to some of our key managers. This is actually just one part of the overall skill set I have built up as a coach to my staff.
Your coaching fees have been recouped in a number of ways. Sometimes, the brainstorming of new marketing ideas has started the ball rolling on a new way of promoting some product or service which more than pays for the session. I know that your assistance would be valuable to take that idea on to fruition, but for me, just the brainstorming activity is value in itself.
Another way in which you have generated payback to the investment is in identifying cost savings which were not obvious to us and by encouraging me to negotiate a better business arrangement on the purchase of a product or service.
